Asteroid 2023 HV5 to come as close to Earth as the Moon
NASA has issued an alert regarding the asteroid 2023 HV5, which is set to come as close as the Moon to Earth in the year 2023. Although the asteroid is not expected to pose any danger to Earth, NASA has classified it as a "potentially hazardous object" due to its size and close approach.

This asteroid will come alarmingly close to Earth
Another asteroid, known as 2021 GW4, is set to come alarmingly close to Earth on November 13, 2021. According to NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the asteroid will pass by Earth at a distance of just 16,000 miles (25,750 kilometers) – closer than the distance between Earth and some of our orbiting satellites. The asteroid is estimated to be between 72 and 160 meters in diameter.
Asteroids zooming towards Earth on May 1
On May 1, 2022, three asteroids – one of them as large as an airplane – are set to make a close approach to Earth. The largest of the three, known as 2022 HP6, is estimated to be around 100 feet (30 meters) in diameter and will pass by Earth at a distance of approximately 1.1 million miles (1.7 million kilometers). The other two asteroids, 2022 HN4 and 2022 HS4, are both around 45 feet (14 meters) in diameter and will pass by Earth at distances of approximately 1.5 million miles (2.4 million kilometers) and 3.5 million miles (5.6 million kilometers) respectively.
NASA says a dangerous rock is speeding towards Earth
In 2021, NASA warned that a large asteroid known as 2009 JF1 was hurtling towards Earth at a speed of 32,000 miles per hour (51,500 kilometers per hour). The asteroid, which is estimated to be around 130 meters in diameter, has a one in 3,800 chance of impacting Earth in 2022. However, NASA has also stated that the odds of an impact are very low and that there is no need for concern at this time.
